Who is Charter-A Ltd?
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. Charter-A Ltd is a registered company (number 7668809). We are a broker: we find, price and arrange the flight, and a holder of an approved air operator certificate flies it. That separation matters to you, because the flying is done by a regulated operation with its own crew, maintenance and insurance, while we look after the planning and the people.
Our group also runs jet and air-taxi charter at charter-a.com and Battersea Helicopter for flights from the London Heliport. This site, charter-a-helicopter.co.uk, covers helicopter charter across the whole of the UK.
Where we are based
Our head office is Hangar One at London Redhill Aerodrome, Kingsmill Lane, Redhill, Surrey RH1 5JY. Redhill is a helicopter base south of London, close to the M25 and Gatwick, which is why many of our London area planning starts there. You can read about the field in our Redhill helicopter charter page. Most of our clients never visit the office: we meet you at the airfield, heliport or site where your flight starts.
How we work
We arrange; the AOC holder flies. In practice that means:
- You give us the journey: date, times, places, passengers and weights, luggage.
- We check which helicopters are positioned near you, which type suits the route and landing site, and what the real flying time will be.
- We return with one clear answer, and we book the landing slots, permissions and, where needed, customs notice.
- On the day, our team follows the flight and is on the phone throughout. The line is open 24 hours.
We reply as quickly as we can, and clients often ask for flights at short notice. If you want to understand the whole process before you ask, read how helicopter charter works in the UK.

Safety, approvals and insurance
All helicopters we use are on a UK CAA or EASA approved air operator certificate, with type-rated pilots, and fully insured. The pilot in command makes the final decision about whether a flight goes. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. For a plain-English view of the rules, see our guide to helicopter safety and regulation in the UK.
Who books with us
Our clients include personal assistants and directors arranging business travel, family offices, project and events teams, estates, sports and hospitality organisers, and personal security teams. Many come back for repeat journeys. You can read independent feedback on Trustpilot, where Charter-A holds a 5.0 rating from over 220 reviews.
What we cover
We cover business charter, events and corporate hospitality, shoot days, secure transport and airport transfers, flown from the places listed in our UK heliports and airfields directory. We do not run leisure flights: our business is getting people and their things from one place to another, on time. Ready to talk? Use our contact page.
