The short answer
The Agusta 109 Grand is a twin-engine executive helicopter with six seats. It is quick and refined, which makes it our usual suggestion for client trips, city-to-city hops and flights to Paris. Bags go in soft cases, and we confirm weights, route and landing site before proposing it.

Who suits the 109 Grand?
Agusta 109 Grand helicopter charter suits parties of up to six who want a smart, quick executive aircraft and value the quiet of a modern cabin. Typical customers are executives travelling alone or in pairs who want the aircraft to themselves, a management team of four or five, or advisers moving together to a client meeting. It is the type we most often suggest for a straight city-to-city or airfield-to-airfield hop of up to a couple of hours, and for client trips where the way you arrive is part of the impression.
If your party has bulky bags or is nearer eight than six, we will suggest the AW139 or the H145 D3. If the party is small and carrying kit, the AS355 Twin Squirrel has good room for bags.
How many people and bags fit?
Up to six passengers can travel, in an executive layout. Luggage goes in soft bags: the hold is smaller than on the largest helicopters, and soft bags go where a hard suitcase will not. As a rule, business luggage for each person, a laptop bag and a small overnight bag, is fine; a golf bag or several large cases for six people is not, and in that case we would look at a bigger aircraft or split the luggage. Tell us the weights of passengers and bags when you ask for a quote, because weight sets how much fuel we can carry and so how far the helicopter can go in one leg.

How fast is it, and how far can it go?
The 109 Grand is among the faster light twin helicopters, so it covers business distances quickly. For consistency across the site we plan every type on the same standard figure: London to Birmingham is typically about 40 to 50 minutes in the air, and London to Manchester about an hour to an hour and a quarter. Wind and routing alter the real time, and we give you a final figure with the quote.
For long trips with six on board we check the fuel and weight plan before we promise a non-stop leg. If a fuel stop is needed we say so up front.
Is the 109 Grand a good choice for Paris?
Yes, it is the aircraft we most often suggest for flights to Paris. Its speed and refinement suit a client or director who wants to arrive fresh, and as a twin it is approved for flying over the Channel. A flight abroad also needs customs and immigration arranged at the departure and arrival sites, and passports for everyone on board; we handle the planning and tell you what we need. Twin-engine, over water and at night: what can the 109 Grand do?
The 109 Grand is a twin-engine helicopter. That brings the usual benefits of a twin: it can keep flying if one engine fails, and it is more commonly approved for flights over cities and open water than a single-engine type. Night flying and instrument flight depend on the individual aircraft equipment, the crew and the landing site, so we check these when you book and never assume them. Weather decides everything in the end. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.
Where does it land, and what do clients use it for?
Licensed airfields, business airports, city heliports and event helipads are its everyday sites. It is compact enough for most private sites that suit a medium helicopter, though a hotel lawn or estate field is always subject to landing permission and site suitability. Frequent examples include Redhill, Biggin Hill, Denham and Elstree.
It is a common choice for same-day business trips: out in the morning, three meetings, home by evening. It also serves airport transfers by helicopter and corporate hospitality at race meetings and motorsport. A chauffeur from Executive Global Travel can meet you on landing to complete the journey.

How many passengers can a 109 Grand carry?
Six in an executive layout. We confirm the seating and weights for your date before booking.
Is the Agusta 109 Grand twin-engine?
Yes, it has two engines, which suits flights over built-up areas and water and provides a margin if one engine fails.
How much luggage fits on a 109 Grand?
Soft bags only, and less than on the AW139 or H145 D3. Business luggage for each passenger is normally fine; golf bags and large hard cases are not. Tell us what you are carrying.
Is the 109 Grand the right helicopter for Paris?
It is the one we suggest most often: quick, refined and twin-engine. For a party of seven or eight we would look at the H145 D3 or the AW139 instead.
Can it land at my office, hotel or house?
Often a landing site can be arranged, but it is always subject to landing permission and site suitability. We approach the landowner and confirm before you travel.
What if the weather is bad?
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. We watch the forecast ahead of your flight and tell you early if there is a risk.
