Which Leeds site is right for your flight?
For helicopter charter Leeds, Leeds Bradford Airport suits most business flights and anything linked to a jet, the heliport suits a helicopter-only job that wants to be quiet and simple, and Leeds East suits journeys towards York and the east. The airport is not a 24-hour site: published hours are 07:00 to 23:00 with prior permission outside them, so we plan around those.
Leeds Bradford Airport has a 2,250 m grooved runway, and handling for business aviation is mandatory, on the south side well away from the passenger terminal. It is the highest-elevation major airport in the UK, at about 674 ft, so weather can be a factor. Customs for private flights is arranged through the handling agent on the airfield.
The Leeds Heliport sits half a mile north on the A658 inside the airport's controlled airspace. It is strictly by prior permission, it has a basic waiting area rather than a full terminal, and parking is free. Sat-nav can send you into the Coney Park estate rather than the heliport, which is a separate site, so we give clear directions with your confirmation.

Leeds East: the third option

For York it is the closest site: about 10 to 15 minutes by helicopter against 26 minutes by road. See our York page. It handles light jets, so for a jet leg see charter-private-jet.com.
Leeds to London, Manchester and Newcastle

Business, racing and the Yorkshire estates
Leeds is a legal, financial and professional centre, with offices around Wellington Place and the South Bank, and its clients regularly need a morning in Leeds and an afternoon somewhere three hours away by car. Our business helicopter charter page explains how those days are built, and same-day business trips covers the there-and-back-in-a-day model.
Beyond the city, clients have flown to Harrogate, Ripon, Huddersfield and York. Racing matters here: York has its own day-by-day guide on our York racecourse page, and Doncaster's St Leger meeting is on the Doncaster St Leger page. Yorkshire's grouse moors and estates are covered under shooting by helicopter. Landing at any estate, hotel or racecourse is subject to landing permission and site suitability.
Booking and the day itself
Give us your passenger weights, your timings and your destination, and we confirm the site and the aircraft. Arrive 10 minutes before departure, and pack in soft bags where the hold is small. The 24-hour line is there for changes. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. With an airport at 674 ft, we watch cloud base and visibility on the morning and tell you early.
For neighbouring bases, see Manchester and Newcastle. The Yorkshire and the Humber page and the northern airfield directory list the rest. For cost guides, see Helicopter Hire Prices.

Often, but always subject to landing permission and site suitability. We make the request and confirm the landing site before you travel.
