How does a helicopter visit to the Festival of Speed work?
Helicopter charter to the Goodwood Festival of Speed has been part of our work for many years.
You fly to Goodwood Aerodrome, land, and a road transfer takes you into the event. The transfer is included in the event landing fee. The aerodrome is licensed for helicopters and aeroplanes, and it is the helicopter gateway to Goodwood's motorsport and racing events. Landing requires prior permission and the event slots are strictly allocated, so we request yours early. Landing is subject to permission and site suitability.
On event days the aerodrome is open from 07:30 to 19:00 local time, daylight only. Customs can be arranged. We confirm the details for your date as part of the booking.
The Festival of Speed ticketing is separate. Goodwood says general sale opens in November 2026, with earlier access for club members. Hospitality and tickets are bought from Goodwood or an events agency, and we fit the flights around them.

Helicopter figures are typical block times: distance at 135 knots plus 8 minutes, shown as a range. Road figures are free-flowing road times, a floor that real journeys rarely beat. Distances are in a straight line. Figures from our UK route data, checked 29 Sep 2026.
A real example: 30 passengers over two days
A prestigious car manufacturer asked us for two days of helicopter transfers between Battersea and Goodwood for 30 passengers. The passengers arrived at the aerodrome and our crews stayed on the ground until they were ready to return. It is a good model for a corporate party: a fixed shuttle, agreed times, and no waiting for anyone.
The same pattern works for client parties of any size. For up to eight passengers one helicopter is enough. For larger groups, several helicopters fly together, which suits a party that wants to arrive as one. See the Leonardo AW139 and Agusta 109 Grand pages for cabins. Our business helicopter charter page covers shuttles and incentive days.

- Southampton: about 15 to 20 minutes, 43 minutes by car.

Booking and the wider motorsport calendar
The Festival of Speed shares a weekend with The Open at St Andrews (see golf by helicopter), so aircraft and crews book fast. Ask early, send passenger weights and use soft bags.
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. For cost guidance, see the helicopter hire price guides. The other Goodwood meetings use the same aerodrome: Glorious Goodwood in late July and the Revival, which Goodwood announces for 17 to 19 September 2027.
