How do you fly to the Great Yorkshire Show?
Helicopter charter to the Great Yorkshire Show is a flight to a heliport and a short car transfer. Leeds Heliport at Coney Park is on the A658, half a mile north of Leeds Bradford Airport, and every movement needs strict prior permission because it sits inside the airport's controlled airspace. It has a basic waiting area and free parking. The showground at Harrogate is a short drive from there.
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. A word on the satellite navigation trap: the postcode can lead into the Coney Park estate, but the heliport is a separate site on the main road, which we confirm in your booking. See helicopter charter Harrogate and Leeds for the airport and heliport pages.

Helicopter figures are typical block times: distance at 135 knots plus 8 minutes, shown as a range. Road figures are free-flowing road times, a floor that real journeys rarely beat. Distances are in a straight line. Figures from our UK route data, checked 29 Sep 2026.
Times to the Yorkshire showground
From the heliport, York is about 15 to 20 minutes by helicopter against at least 46 minutes by road, Manchester about 25 to 30 against 1 hour 37, Liverpool and Aintree about 30 to 35 against 1 hour 41, and Newcastle about 35 to 45 against 2 hours 19. Those figures are from our route data; the road times are free-flowing floors, and show-week traffic will be worse.

Who goes and what to arrange
The show is run by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society and draws farmers, food producers, rural businesses and their suppliers, along with banks and professional firms who host clients. Hospitality, tickets and trade stand access come from the society; we arrange the aircraft, the permission and the car.
Give us the number of guests, their weights and the time you want to arrive. Landing at a private estate nearby is sometimes possible with the owner's permission, subject to landing permission and site suitability, and we ask first. The north's other country days are on the events hub, including York Racecourse. Estates around Harrogate run shooting seasons; see shooting by helicopter.
Planning notes
Arrive 10 minutes before departure and use soft bags. The heliport office keeps shorter hours on Friday and Saturday, so a late return needs agreement. Leeds Bradford sits at about 674 feet and can be under cloud when lower sites are clear. If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing.
Executive Global Travel can arrange the car. See the Yorkshire and the Humber page for the wider area.
