What Blackbushe is and when we use it
Helicopter charter Blackbushe works well for the Thames Valley belt. The airfield is near Camberley with a terminal building, a cafe, resident flying schools, fuel and a business aviation service that includes executive facilities, parking and a pet travel scheme. It is a general aviation airport, not a jet hub, and that suits a helicopter charter: simple, quiet and quick to get in and out of.
Charter-A Helicopter is the helicopter charter service of Charter-A Ltd, which has arranged private flights across the UK and Europe since 2011. Blackbushe has been on our list for years. It is one of the airfields we have used as a start point for flights into London, and it is often chosen over Farnborough when a client has no private jet to meet.

Opening hours and what to check first
The airport publishes opening hours of 07:00 to 18:00, seven days a week. Our old page quoted 08:00 to 18:00; the airport's own site is the source we trust, so plan on its times, and ask us if you need to fly outside them, because the airport also runs an out-of-hours request form.
Visitors need prior permission, and we handle that with your booking. We have not verified the runway dimensions, the customs arrangements or the fuel details from the airport itself for this page, so where a flight comes in from abroad we confirm customs directly with the airfield before we quote it. Please treat those as questions to put to us rather than assumptions.
Blackbushe against the road
The nearest big comparison is Ascot, about 10 to 15 minutes by helicopter against 21 minutes by road, so for racing the time saved is small and the advantage is in not queuing for parking. Heathrow is about 15 minutes against 35, Epsom about 15 to 20 against 46, and the London Heliport at Battersea about 20 against 58 minutes.
The gap opens on longer legs. Goodwood is about 20 to 25 minutes by helicopter and 1 hour 8 by road, Oxford about 20 to 25 minutes against 1 hour 16, and Silverstone about 25 to 30 against 1 hour 40. Bristol takes about 35 to 45 minutes against 2 hours 6, and Birmingham about 35 to 45 against 2 hours 18. Those road times are free-flowing minimums.
The old page said the airfield is used for the lower landing fees at weekends compared with Farnborough; check the current fees with us when you ask for a quote.

Where Blackbushe clients actually go
Clients have flown from Blackbushe to Farnborough, Reading, Heathrow, Basingstoke and a country hotel in Hampshire. The business geography is the Thames Valley belt: Reading, Basingstoke, Bracknell and the Farnborough and Aldershot area, with London as the usual second stop. Those landings at hotels and offices are subject to landing permission and site suitability.
For the days out, Royal Ascot and Ascot racecourse is the nearest, then Newbury, Glorious Goodwood and Silverstone. If you are flying to a cluster of meetings, read about our same-day business trips.
Booking a Blackbushe charter
Send us the date, the passengers and their weights, and where you want to land. We choose the aircraft, request the permissions and confirm. Arrive 10 minutes before departure with luggage in soft bags. For indicative costs see the Helicopter Hire Prices guides; we do not publish fixed prices because they depend on the aircraft and the day.
If the flight is cancelled because of the weather, you pay nothing. A road car at either end can be arranged through our chauffeur partner.
